WSET Level 2 in Wines – Online

WSET LEVEL 2 IN WINES ONLINE

The KZN School of Wine offers an online distance learning option for the wine enthusiast who wishes to study with more flexibility and for those who wish to gain a WSET qualification but find that it is difficult to attend regular classes.

Studying online offers students the flexibility to fit their studies around their commitments and lifestyle. The online distance learning course is designed to give you the freedom to complete the course in your own time at any time.

The course is delivered through a series of online lectures and interactive online sessions. 

There is no time constraint and students can complete the course in a day, month or year.

Students gain support from a WSET tutor and have access to a database of online practice exams.


PROGRAMME OUTLINE
– How wine is made and other factors influencing the style of wine
– Key white grape varieties
– Key black grape varieties
– Wine-producing regions of the world
– Sparkling wines
– Sweet wines and fortified wines
– Label terminology
– Food and wine pairing
– 1 hour multiple-choice examination


A basic foundation and knowledge of wine is required, however, candidates do not have to complete Level 1 in order to enroll in Level 2.

Please note that wines are not included in the online courses.

 


DATES
Online courses are available monthly and begin on the 1st of each month.

Registration closes one week before the start of the course.

EXAM

Exams can be written in person or online.

The exam can be written in person or online.
​To gain the qualification students need to pass a multiple-choice paper of 50 questions. The examination lasts 1 hour and candidates need to achieve a minimum of 55% to pass.
